Ingie Gohar

Ingie Gohar is a researcher and writer focusing on migration, human (in)security, and conflict in the MENA. She holds an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, with a certificate in Refugees, Migration, and Humanitarian Emergencies. Her thesis focused on the securitization and socioeconomic integration of Sudanese refugees in Egypt after the outbreak of the war in Sudan in 2023. At Georgetown’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, she also worked as a research and program assistant.
Before moving to the United States, Ingie earned a BA from the American University in Cairo (AUC), where she graduated from the Political Science Honors Program with a specialization in international relations and political economy, and a minor in creative writing. She worked as a political and business news reporter at Enterprise, one of Egypt’s leading publications, and contributed to several other publications.
