Anti-Palestinian racism is widespread in the United States, yet its prevalence, institutional impact, and human cost remain insufficiently understood, recognized, and addressed. 
This panel, hosted jointly by Arab Center Washington DC and the Institute for the Understanding of Anti-Palestinian Racism (IUAPR), will feature the latest findings from IUAPR’s groundbreaking 2026 national study (population-weighted), highlighting the alarming numbers of who, where, and how anti-Palestinian racism is experienced and witnessed.
Following an overview of the study findings, panelists will explore how this distinct form of racism is impacting the health, well-being, and sense of safety of US adults, and examine the broader civil rights, legal, policy, and public health implications. The discussion will look at how anti-Palestinian racism operates across sectors, including workplace and education; how it affects Palestinians and non-Palestinians, including those perceived to support Palestinian rights; and the importance for advocates, policymakers, and institutions to recognize, prevent, and meaningfully address it.
