Salim Çevik

Salim Çevik is a non-resident senior fellow at the Arab Center. He is also a fellow at the Center for Applied Turkey Studies (CATS) at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) and an associate researcher at Clingendael – the Netherlands Institute of International Relations. Previously, he held research and/or teaching positions at Columbia University, Istanbul Bilgi University, Ipek University, Lund University, and the Free University of Berlin. His primary research areas include the role of religion in politics, Islamist movements, democratization/autocratization, and Turkish domestic and foreign policy. Dr. Çevik received his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at Bilkent University in 2015.
