About the Event
Arab Center Washington DC (ACW) and Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) conducted a survey of public opinion in 16 Arab countries to gauge the Arab public’s opinion about the Israeli war on Gaza that began on October 7, 2023, and Arab perceptions of the US role and policies toward the war. The poll is the first of its kind to measure Arab public opinion on the topic.
Arab Center Washington DC is organizing a press conference to present the survey findings and discuss the implications of the data for US policy, including:
- How does the Arab public view the drivers of the war and the factors enabling its continuation?
- How do populations in the Arab world assess the roles and policies of different regional and international actors toward the war?
- Which countries present the greatest threats to the region? And what should Arab governments do to stop the war?
- Has Arab opinion of US policy changed from previous years after Israel’s war on Gaza? Has US policy toward the war changed US image and interests in the region?
- What is the Arab public’s assessment of the US position toward the war and US seriousness in establishing a Palestinian state?
- What is the Arab public’s opinion today about Arab states’ normalization with Israel? What is its significance for US policy in the region?
