Ilham Nasser
Senior Advisor in Education for Development , Creative Associates International
Ilham Nasser serves as a Senior Advisor in Education for Development at Creative Associates International. Dr. Nasser has spent over 30 years in research and training in child development and teacher education in different educational settings in the US, Central Africa, and the Middle East. She completed a PhD in Human Development and Child Study at the University of Maryland-College Park, and worked for several years as a classroom teacher and school counselor. She also served as a faculty member in teacher education for 12 years at George Mason University, first as an assistant professor and then as an associate professor. Her academic research includes publications on teacher preparation and professional development in social, cultural, and political contexts. Recently, she led the modernization of the curriculum for kindergarten in Iraq and the design and development of the first national curriculum for kindergarten in Palestine. Dr. Nasser also spent five years leading a study on psychosocial well-being among youth and educators in 15 different countries between 2018 and 2021. For a list of publications, please click here
